ABSTRACT
Distention of the uterus is obtained using an electronic suction-irrigation pump (Endomat, Karl Storz) that can maintain a constant intrauterine pressure around 30/40 mmHg, necessary to avoid overdistention of the uterus and reduce patient discomfort. A high-intensity xenon or halogen light of at least 250 W is necessary for the best visualization.
