ABSTRACT

Hysteroscopy is extremely useful in the evaluation and management of abnormal uterine bleeding, recurrent abortions, or uterine anomalies. Although rare (1-3%), complications occur more often with operative than with diagnostic hysteroscopy. The procedures commonly associated with complications are resection of uterine septum and lysis of uterine synechia, followed by removal of uterine fibroids and polyps.
