ABSTRACT
Healthcare competes with other market sectors for capital resources. We have segmented the US financing markets into broad categories: Healthcare, Information Technology, Consumer Products, and Other. We have also segmented the US Healthcare market into Biopharma, Services, Medical Devices, Information Services, and Other. We have chosen to look at these markets in terms of financing rounds, in order to assess the degree of interest in the major categories. We have also chosen to examine the markets in terms of funding, to see the distribution of US dollars ($) over time and in terms of median amounts raised, to help understand the dynamics of the marketplace.
