Classification of Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction in the Female Patient

This chapter does not include an in depth review of LUT pathophysiology, diagnosis, or therapy, but these are reviewed exhaustively elsewhere within this textbook. In addition, this chapter is not intended to be a review of the historical development of the various methods of classification, although prior historical models are selectively referenced. However, the readers are strongly encouraged to utilize these models to “organize their thoughts” and facilitate the development of a logical approach to care.
