ABSTRACT
The Biology of Lymphatic Metastasis Despite the continuing advances in our knowledge regarding the molecular mechanisms involved in primary carcinogenesis, many questions persist as to how malignant cells metastasize to regional lymphatics. The frustration in our inability to delineate fully these molecular events is further compounded when considering the prognostic significance of nodal metastases in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
