ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION Lyophilization is a process that was developed many years ago, yet became more prominent in the pharmaceutical industry with the growth of biopharmaceutical drug products. The purpose of freeze-drying is to extend the shelf life of products that would have minimal life in liquid format and give them the ability to have a standard shelf life that would typically consist of a minimum of two years.
