ABSTRACT
I. DIAGNOSIS OF CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE Myocardial perfusion scintigraphy represents the most widely used noninvasive imaging modality for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD). The modality has high sensitivity, sufficient documentation for both diagnostic and prognostic indications, and it is relatively easily performed. Negative characteristics include radiation exposure, cost, and limitations in specificity.
