ABSTRACT

What Makes a Lesion “Complex” in This Vessel Area? During the last years, endovascular treatment of the femoropopliteal segment has been more and more accepted as a valuable treatment option. However, recanalization can be challenging in chronic total occlusions due to sever calcification, but recent development of dedicated techniques and devices has significantly increased the success rate for these lesions. Due to the high restenosis rate, long obstructions can be considered challenging as well and research to solve this problem is ongoing.
