ABSTRACT
Distal tubal disease induces poor retrieval and ampullary containment of the cumulus oophorus. Scarring, limited tubo-ovarian mobility, reduced ovarian surface, and compromised ovulatory function may compound the abnormal transport. Delay in retrieval or transport of the cumulus complex may result in blastocyst formation within the oviduct, and an ectopic implantation (6).
