Breast reconstruction with the latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap

INTRODUCTION Breast reconstruction is an important component of breast cancer management and should be a safe procedure of appropriate complexity for the patient. No significant functional deficit should ensue, rates of complications must be minimized and any subsequent delays in commencement of adjuvant therapy following immediate reconstruction should be avoided.
