ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION External beam radiotherapy (EBRT) is a cost-effective and reliable modality in the palliation of metastatic breast cancer. It is useful in the management of localisable lesions and contributes to symptom relief through local control but rarely to survival benefi t. In this chapter, theoretical and practical issues surrounding the role of radiotherapy in the management of bone deposits, spinal cord compression, chest wall disease, and choroidal and cerebral metastases will be discussed.
