ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION Two-thirds of women with metastatic breast cancer eventually have disease involving the liver, which is the third most common site of metastases from carcinoma of the breast after the bone and lung. A few patients with metastatic breast cancer have isolated hepatic metastases (12-16%). A larger group of patients have stable bone metastases and hepatic metastases. There is a trend towards a more aggressive treatment for this patient group.
