ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION This chapter begins by discussing the role of palliative care, recent developments, and its application to treating patients with metastatic breast cancer. The chapter further discusses the management of common symptoms that such a patient might experience including pain, nausea and vomiting, constipation, and breathlessness. The chapter concludes with a discussion of management of the terminal phase and the future of palliative care in this setting.
