ABSTRACT
Biopharmaceuticals are biotechnology-derived medicinal products that are manufactured by the use of recombinant DNA technology. Most biopharmaceuticals are proteins or peptides that mimic or inhibit endogenous human proteins or peptides. Biopharmaceuticals currently approved for human use include hormones, enzymes, growth factors, thrombolytics, immune modulators, and monoclonal antibodies.
