KEY POINTS l Hyperthyroidism occurs in 0.1% to 0.4% of pregnancies. l Graves’ disease accounts for 95% of women with hyper-
thyroidism. l Untreated hyperthyroidism is associated with increased
risks of spontaneous pregnancy loss, preterm birth, preeclampsia, fetal death, abruption, fetal growth restriction (FGR), neonatal Graves’ disease, as well as maternal congestive heart failure, and thyroid storm.
