KEY POINTS l Ensure correct diagnosis of von Willebrand disease
(vWD), which must be done while not pregnant. The diagnostic work usually includes factor VIII, vWF:Ag, and ristocetin cofactor activity. Be aware of physiologic increase of factor VIII and vWF levels in pregnancy.
