ABSTRACT

Maternal tuberculosis treatment is not altered by breastfeeding. Pyridoxine should be administered to the breastfeeding infant even if the infant is not receiving isoniazid therapy (79,81). Neonate should undergo TST, chest X ray, lumbar puncture, and M. tuberculosis smear and culture if mother had TB during pregnancy. If tuberculosis is suspected in the child, the child should be adequately treated.
