ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION Limb dystonia can be a primary, isolated focal disorder or can arise in association with a more widespread involvement of multiple body areas. When dystonia involves the limbs, it can be particularly disabling. Hand use and walking require fi nely coordinated patterned movements, so that even a mild degree of dystonia can severely disrupt function.
