ABSTRACT
Modern liposuction is the art of contouring of the body through removal of
adipose tissue using mechanical suction techniques. This chapter reviews the
history of liposuction, safety, preoperative preparation, procedure sequence, and
advanced techniques. Following review of this information, the reader will gain
the knowledge to develop skills in the technique of the procedure and be able to
successfully adapt them to clinical practice.
