ABSTRACT
Tourism education is of growing significance and attracting a growing body of research. Indeed there are no less than three journals dedicated solely to research in tourism education. These are The Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Education, The Journal of Teaching in Travel and Tourism and The Journal of Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism Education. A further sign of the maturity is the 29 North American doctoral dissertations related to tourism education listed in Dissertation Abstracts International between 1987 and 2000.
