ABSTRACT
The proliferation of DAWs and digital recorders on the market, and the development of both proprietary and non-proprietary file formats, has meant that the act of transferring audio between systems has become one of the most complex areas of post production. The lack of complete agreement on universal standards and the rapid development of new formats means there is often not a clear ‘pathway’ along which audio can travel through the production chain.
