ABSTRACT

The British diversity specialist Graham Shaw has noted that, “Raising the awareness of social, political, demographic, and business trends is key to building the business case for diversity in Europe” (2000). This chapter will focus on a number of those elements, not only providing indications of the points at which successful organizations must understand and manage diversity, but also yielding a near-future picture of a diverse Europe. The next 30 years of European decision-making are likely to change the face of Europe as much as it changed after the European shifts of population and power that occurred with the discovery and colonization of the Americas.
