ABSTRACT

This chapter will examine the knowledge management practices of two Europe-based corporations, paying particular attention to how these firms address the complex cross-cultural challenge of transferring the knowledge and experience of best practices throughout their respective organizations worldwide. The two companies are Novo Nordisk, a Danish biotechnology concern, and Sulzer Infra, a Swiss concern that offers specialist environmental expertise to the construction industry. The information on these companies is taken from extensive case study material and its analysis in my book Cross-Cultural Management: A Knowledge Management Perspective.
