ABSTRACT

By the middle of 1997, thousands of IBM Global Services practitioners could share technical materials, engagement experiences, industry information, proposals, and other valuable documents over the world-wide IBM Lotus Notes network using the firm's new Intellectual Capital Management System. In addition to submitting and retrieving intellectual materials, they can take part in issue-based online discussions and use author information accompanying submissions to contact each other directly. The system helps consultants in more than a hundred countries share the intellectual assets they create and bring their combined expertise to bear on client work. It is designed to increase both the speed and quality of their response to customer needs.
