ABSTRACT

Late in the afternoon, Andrej Lesak, director of Iskra Avtomatizacija, stood at the window of one of the hotels that had recently popped up north of Hyde Park. Absorbed in his thoughts, he gazed into the stream of white and red lights running parallel along the Baywater Road down to the Marble Arch. The atmosphere was imbued with a spring fragrance, and the low, west-wind driven clouds shifted now and then to reveal the clear blue afternoon sky.
