ABSTRACT

Having explored in the previous chapter the operational side of concept design, finally we come to the creative aspect of the process – the actual development of the concept. Let us assume that the objectives are clear, that the condition of the site is safeguarded, that the academic research has been incorporated, that we have a detailed appraisal of the scale and nature of the likely audience, that the physical requirements of the visitors have been taken fully into account, that the site and/or space is suitable, that the capital and revenue budgets are adequate and that the local population is content, etc.
