ABSTRACT
To fully conceal a trapdoor in a deck, the hinging mechanism must be hidden. However skillfully installed, the knuckle of a conventional hinge will protrude above deck level. A hinge developed to solve this problem can be mounted below the deck and works much like the hinge on an automobile hood.
