ABSTRACT
An inexpensive electret microphone element can make a good substitute for the higher-quality dynamic microphone usually used as the pickup mic in a stage monitor system. The electret’s sensitivity is excellent, and its noise level low enough that the expensive dynamic mic can be freed for use elsewhere.
