ABSTRACT

What I intended when imagining this anonymous character, was to create a kind of subject that one could easily imagine in a horror museum, whilst at the same time emphasizing a main idea as part of the absurdity of the form: the man-cage appears more alive than the bird it contains. I love this sort of semantic opposition in my pictures – the first disturbing vision fades away to make room for questioning which goes far beyond the technique and the methods used to create it. I like to put content before form.
