After reading this chapter, you should be able to:
Explain how an NGO (non-governmental organization) engaged in entrepreneurship through social capacity building (SCB) helps local communities to convert their economic and social weaknesses into strengths;
Understand essential concepts of social and other capacities building, regional tourism development, institutional/social entrepreneurship as well as of discourse analyses as a useful theoretical framework for understanding the social construction of organizational changes;
Appreciate the specific political and historical context of the studied region and be able to compare it to other similar or different environments;
Identify and explain the complexity of the regional development process burden by various political influences as well as personal interests by a multiplicity of actors.
