After reading this chapter, you should be able to:
Understand the key principles of the multi-stakeholder approach to tourism development;
View this specific approach within an environment in which public funding is an integral part of a mixed private sector and community-led programme;
Understand that a bottom-up model of development tourism in rural settings requires entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills by all those involved in the development;
Appreciate the Slovenian model of rural tourism development as a good, if not best, practice that could be applied in comparable situations elsewhere.
