ABSTRACT
Rainforest Expeditions is a private tourism company that operates three award-winning lodges in the Tambopata region of the southeastern Peruvian Amazon. The company manages or co-manages three lodges: Posada Amazonas (30 rooms), Refugio Amazonas (32 rooms), and Tambopata Research Center (18 rooms). All three have earned awards and international press coverage for combining high-quality tourism in the rainforest with achievements in conservation and community development. The lodges host 13,500 guests per year, and each caters to clients with different intensities and types of interest in the Amazon.
