ABSTRACT
The postmodern State is a (de)formed system, a system far from equilibrium where the production of desire cannot be actualized as a collective, molar and immutable identity. Here social production is not contraction on a progressive, historical continuum or a subject-orientated linearity, but is a resonation of the virtual as a fractal attractor. As a threshold state and spectre from the future, postmodernity resonates supermolecularity and hyperdifferentiation, which is witnessed as the collapse of time into space, social heterogeneity and political flux. As the transmutation of the world-system at bifurcation point, postmodernity cannot be thought about with reductive understanding but only chaotically and anarchically.
