ABSTRACT

This chapter reports on the progress of a project at the University of Glasgow to investigate the benefits of Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) as teaching, learning and revision tools and the practicalities of deploying PDAs and measuring their use. This case study describes what happened at the pilot stage and the problems we encountered. Had everything worked as it should have done we would have collected more data, unfortunately we had overestimated the students’ willingness to co-operate.
