Prelude

I recently observed one of Fred and Bette’s groups. The experience was like watching a work of art. I was sort of overwhelmed by how well organized the environment was. It was the best listening environment I was ever in. Another thing I was very impacted by was that I didn’t have the experience of Fred having these things to say and waiting for the opportunity to say them. As we were talking about that afterward, Fred said to me that his experience in doing group is that it’s like writing a song. Something occurs to you, you see where it goes, and so on.
