ABSTRACT

Since the later period of the twentieth century, society has taken a progressively deeper interest in the behaviour of organisations. The socio-political lobby has become more influential and sophisticated and community politics is gaining prominence in shaping local decision making. Furthermore, business and development activities have the power to shape and alter the way society evolves through their actions and utilisation of resources. This has a far-reaching influence over social order. Consequently, greater accountability and community involvement are demanded by society.
