ABSTRACT
These regulations came into force on 1 January 1993. They effectively replaced all prescriptive legislation made prior to the Health and Safety at Work, Etc. Act 1974 and implement the requirements of a European Directive. With the regulations came a set of Guidance Notes published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) [1].
