ABSTRACT

Why should teachers be interested in creativity in relation to their work? One answer comes from the government’s Green Paper (The Learning Age – A Renaissance for a New Britain) which appeared in February 1998:

‘ The Industrial Revolution was built on capital investment in plant and machinery, skills and hard physical labour … The information and knowledge-based revolution of the twenty-first century will be built on a very different foundation – investment in the intellect and creativity of people.
