ABSTRACT
Few things can seem more intimidating than a page with just a title or an idea for a piece of writing. In this chapter, reading and writing are held together as complementary and dynamic processes as the writer journeys from starting point to fair copy. Although writers have different approaches, there are some strategies that will help most students. Both library skills, more diverse now that we have computer searches and CD-ROMs to consult as well as books and journals, and study skills, how to use particular texts for your own purposes, are important and covered throughout this book.
