ABSTRACT
The Portuguese legal deposit law requests the deposit of theses and dissertations in the National Library. The actual law concerns only printed material, but the National Library has been defining a strategy to address the problem of the deposit of digital publications. These efforts are concentrated in three main areas: an overall analysis of the structure of the problem, the development of the concept of publication genre, and the development of the concept of deposit by scenarios.
