Both contemporary micro-economics and strategic management analysis are concerned centrally with questions about the organisation of the firm. These are, however, different perspectives, and they are concerned with different sets of questions relating to business organisation. In order to avoid confusion, it is valuable at the beginning to delineate the perspective adopted in, and the concerns of, this chapter.
