ABSTRACT

Knut Wicksell is probably Sweden’s best known economist. Around the turn of the century, he provided an excellent summary of the most important contributions to economic theory during the previous decades. He left about 100 unpublished, mostly topical, manuscripts, primarily intended as contributions to the current debate in the press. This collection contains some relatively advanced works as well. A translation of one of those is published here for the first time. The Swedish original is kept in the rich Wicksell Archive in the library at the University of Lund.1
