ABSTRACT
Until the early 1990s, power generation in Thailand was solely the responsibility of the state-owned Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). EGAT had invested steadily in expanding its power capacity in order to meet growth in power demand of approximately 14 per cent per annum during the last decade.
