ABSTRACT

Whether you are learning independently or attending a language class, there are plenty of sources of support you can draw on. Earlier chapters have highlighted the importance of friends and family, fellow students, work colleagues and interaction with other speakers of your target language in particular. This chapter examines the types of support you can expect from your tutor or from a language adviser, if you are studying through an educational institution, before considering in more detail how you can make the most of these other sources of support. It concludes by looking at your ultimate goal: putting your newly acquired language skills into practice.
