ABSTRACT
Assessment is as much about learning as about getting marks and a qualification. This chapter aims to give an overview of the different types of assessment that may be included in a language course, and to explain some of the terminology you may encounter. It provides general advice and specific tips on how to plan, complete and benefit from doing assignments as well as how to prepare for exams.
