ABSTRACT

On 24 November 1972 Daniel was born by caesarean section after a long and trouble-filled confinement. He was near death for some hours and very ill for many days. He showed all the classical symptoms of brain damage, all which proved accurate. Before his first birthday he had been diagnosed as suffering from Athetoid Cerebral Palsy. He would not be able to walk or talk and his arms and hands were in constant movement. His only controlled movement was foot placement.
