ABSTRACT

At the entrance of the majlis there is also a quatrain which reflects a noble trait, not only in the Sultan Abd'ulAziz and the Ikhwan, but in all the people of Najd. It expresses really certain traditional traits of the Arab everywhere-generosity, self-respect, valour, and the love of glory and praise. I said' traditional,' because in certain parts of Arabia they have so become. But in Najd, among the town-folk and the Bedu, the poet whom the Sultan has honoured by having his rhymes written above the door of the majlis, is not quoted in vain.
