ABSTRACT

Edward Franklin Frazier was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He spent his early life in that city, where he also received his primary and secondary education. After receiving the B.A. degree from Howard University, he taught at Tuskegee Institute, St. Paul’s Normal and Industrial School in Lawrenceville, Virginia, and in the Baltimore high schools. His subsequent degrees were an M.A. from Clark University and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
