ABSTRACT
As is evident, the field of hospitality management education has undergone many changes over the past seventy-five years and even more drastic changes over the past ten years. Although this book has focused exclusively upon the field of hospitality management education, it is important to remember that no single academic area, including ours, operates in a vacuum. The entire field of higher education has changed dramatically over the past decade and con tinues to adapt to the changing social, political, and economic land scape. Some of these changes are worth noting for the simple fact that they already do, or threaten to, affect the field of hospitality education.
