ABSTRACT

Moral wisdom, no doubt, is a social matter. Historical reports show that in the exceptional cases when an isolated child has managed to survive by herself or himself, s(he) has done so as a small beast, not as a true human being. On the other hand, figures such as Buddha, Thoreau or Gandhi demonstrate that moral advancement has also an undeniable individual component. It is not an easy task to study moral or ethical phenomena giving the due weight to its social and personal dimensions.
